Dedicated to residents of Jaipur, the Dravyavati River Project aims to improve health and sanitation by proper collection and treatment of waste water by converting a drain, earlier known as Amanishah Nallah into a perennial river. This would also mitigate the flooding hazard of the river which passes through the heart of the city.
Dedicated to residents of Jaipur, the Dravyavati River Project aims to improve health and sanitation by proper collection and treatment of waste water by converting a drain, earlier known as Amanishah Nallah into a perennial river. This would also mitigate the flooding hazard of the river which passes through the heart of the city.
The project involves course correction, sewage Merception and treatment and value creation, all of which helps to restore the historic river of the city.
Treatment of 170 million liters per day sewage will significantly solve the sanitation problem in the city. The treated water, which will feed the river, will help in restoring ground water and would curb pollution. The green belt developed across the course of the river will also add to the advantages.
By reviving the actual course of the river and restoring the dams, this project has mitigated the flooding hazard of the river which passes through the heart of the city.
Open green spaces, city level parks and a walkway along the route of the river have dramatically changed the landscape of the city. Five Sewage Treatment Plants and 90 km of sewer lines have solved the decades old sanitation problem of the city.
